Have you thought about starting your own business? Have you started one and are having problems with marketing, fear of failure, fear of success … I could go on and on. You ask, What now? never entered his mind? If so, I'd like to share my story with you. A trip, business business owners and everything in between.

After working in the business for 25 years, had the opportunity to start my own business, work outside the home. I found a profession in fulfilling personal and business coaching. I want to work with others to help them achieve a better life for themselves. Although it was my choice to develop my own business, I had no marketing experience and desire that I needed to build that customer base. The truth is that I did not like (kind word) marketing, I want to sell and I knew it was necessary to achieve this part of my business … and I thought it was what is needed. The fact is that if I had a dollar for every time I said: "I am not a marketing person," would not have to market my business, I would be for life.

I did the typical routine of sending some letters to friends and business acquaintances, giving training sessions the sample and make calls from some who felt safe. I even put a few ads in the paper. I soon came to the reality that the phone would ring and people not going to approach me while I was sitting comfortably on my desk. Then, a turning point came as I stood in my office one afternoon. I realized it was not a person who could be an independent business owner – what I was thinking I could do this? I decided I should resign and return to work office. Then I heard a voice, was very clear. "If you quit before you've given 100% it will be very disappointed with yourself for the rest of his life."

I thought to give one more try. How could he do this? I asked two basic questions. What do I need and what I want? The responses I received were simple. I needed the movement and color I wanted. At that time it was all I knew. I decided to trust that these answers are forward my address in the marketing and the creation of my business. About a week later I went along to a Juggling academy in Burnsville MN. Color, movement – I signed up. I started with a Juggling class, networked with friends and business partners and develop a monthly call with other business owners about "manifest" what I want. I started to look for me, what made me tick, what energizes me and when I was in my prime. This became a period of self-discovery. I had been so tied up in that I thought was, I had forgotten who I was, a great team player, a great partner, the queen of brainstorming and special resources. I thrived on the energy of others to help build my business. I needed diversity to maintain interest and took a look at what really interested me. What are my strengths and what made me unique? I also looked at what gives me energy and what was my energy. I decided to cut lose a part of my business that was bleeding and not energizing. About 2 weeks later "Marketing on the Playground ^ born (TM)." I had created the space for what was supposed enter through the release of what was wrong.

About 1 – ½ years have passed since I left this time of self-discovery and gave me permission to market my business "my way". My business has flourished on: 1) write a book, "Marketing on the Playground ^ (TM)." 2) development and playshops teleclasses to help others struggling with marketing your business 3) the creation of shelters for employers who need time to run and develop their ideas.

Here is the baseline. Discover what works for you. It must be an extension of their own strengths, passions and uniqueness. You have chosen to be in your own business, that took guts, passion and desire to make a better life for himself. Tell me again why I do not think you need to market your business? If you have passion, interests, strength, and I mean the strength to step into this world and set its own course, you have what it takes to market your business. Now, it's just a question to find what works for you.

What was the secret to overcoming the obstacles? "True" belief. The belief so strong that it is willing to stand and overcome anything and everything that challenges the vision.

A few marketing tips:. Give yourself "permission" to follow its own style as an extension of yourself. . Network and market through their strengths, their passions and uniqueness. . Trust Yourself – You're the only one who has his own talent to market your business. . See what's working and what is not – if it does not need to cut loose? . Believe in yourself, and "Be" Yourself.
