Juggling Unit
How many absences do you have to accrue in the army reserves to be discharged from the army?

So my unit is getting deployed in march of next year. I love the army dearly but it’s been really hard juggling drill and my regular life. I have demanding work hours and I depend on public transportation to get around. I’m a little paranoid and really this small dilemma leaves me wishing I had joined the active army instead (for a full dose of soldiering) I’m going to suck it up and make sure drill is my 1st priority from now on. But until then I’d like to know how much damage I’ve done… =(

Your civ job HAS TO let you go to drill, some states they still have to pay you. Go active dude, you dont have a car. Besides the gaurd is GARBAGE. If you deploy with them it will be crap. Nothing worse then weekend heroes, running there mouths and having the RA come in and fix the mess they made. Trust me active life is better. The gaurd is cool if you are riding out the last few years of your inactive ready reserve time. Even then active for a full 8 without gaurd is better. You will already part of the way done. I dont know how ate up (not strict) your command is, most gaurd units are not very strict.
